There are communities who have been on the frontlines of fossil fuel resistance, long before the climate movement sprung up in the West. Who are fighting for their land, resources and lives. When we talk of fossil free finance, we stand in solidarity with these movements and peoples.
Let this newspaper serve as an educational resource for us all and most of all to the banks, insurers, and asset managers who are financing these projects, despite the destruction they cause.

Activist Takeovers
Natasha Abhayawickrama takeover October 1
Natasha Abhayawickrama is a 17-year-old climate activist who resides in Warrang, also known as Sydney:
“As a member of the School Strike 4 Climate movement, I have felt the power of uniting with other young people campaigning for greater action. Activism has given me and so many other young people hope. There is no feeling like marching on the streets with tens of thousands of my peers, all united in our demand for real action on climate change, and in our call for the government to do more to protect future generations”
Disha Ravi takeover: October 9
Disha Annappa Ravi is an Indian youth climate change activist and a founder of Fridays For Future India @disharavii
“My motivation to join climate activism came from seeing my grandparents, who are farmers, struggle with the effects of the climate crisis. At the time, I wasn’t aware that what they were experiencing was the climate crisis because climate education is non-existent where I’m from”
Leonie Bremer takeover: October 15
Leonie Bremer is a German Fridays for Future climate activist @leoniebremr
“It is abhorrent that a growing economy is the most important goal for Germany, even though that is exactly what is already costing people their lives. The climate crisis is the result of the economic and industrialized system of our patriarchal society.
In contrast, groups of climate activists are mostly dominated by women, as they are particularly affected by the climate crisis. The consequences displace people – 80 percent of them are women, explains the United Nations.”
